Dota 2 has been dealing with matchmaking issues for a long time, but Valve has been taking more steps over the last year to try and improve it by making sure players are playing the game the right way and not abusing the system. But unlike the previous ban, this acts as a game ban, not just a ranked matchmaking ban. We have banned over 40, accounts for players who were found abusing matchmaking. These bans will now appear as game bans in Steam as well as being matchmaking bans in Dota 2. This most recent ban wave adds to several others that have come through over the last six months, with players who have extremely bad behavior scores or those caught using exploits being removed from ranked matchmaking and sometimes just being unable to play Dota. Here are the three core reasons Valve listed for banning players when the first year ban wave happened last September. But now, it looks like the devs have a good system in place for that portion of the rules and are moving on to ToS and exploit management. Boosting and smurfing are both big problems in the community right now, but these changes and banning accounts from the game instead of just matchmaking could help fix things.
Players to receive harsher ban penalties in Dota 2
Players are finding plenty of new ways to guarantee they receive free BP from their TI10 Battle Pass, and Valve isn’t especially keen on that. Another option for free BP that is theoretically separate from guilds is the wagering system. Players can wager up to tokens on winning a game, with teammates having the abilty to throw in multipliers that can open up the possibility to earn multiple levels in a single win.
But what about combining the two? Some players are using the guild system to set up fixed matches where players will wager tokens en masse in order to quickly earn levels in the TI10 Battle Pass.

Bug abuse, exploit, matchmaking vs 5 men teams. Nothing will be done. First of all- the report system system is not perfect or even that useful tbh. Hots is the simplified moba for casual moba players while DotA is for hardcore sleep on keyboard kind of types skill ceiling is much bigger in DotA. Being able to memorize the basics and how items work with heroes may have made it seem a bit more complicated than the talent system we have in Heroes of the Storm.
But the reality is that the fast paced action here that rewards quick thinking actually makes Heroes of the Storm the more complex one. Reports are actually valid for simply being having a bad day in the game or not picking the hero your team wanted you to pick. Hots is much easier and a superior game so I agree to disagree with your opinion.
Actually, now lemme jump in too , actually, Dota skill-floor is a bit higher than hots, but skill-ceiling for hots is higher than dota i believe. But to master it, to play hots keeping in mind the game mechanics, the talent build adjustmnt with comparison to wht enemy hero is there, n wht enemy hero picked wht, , all tht makes hots way more tough. In dota, like my frend Xylord said, one guy who is good, can farm n get his things n then 1v5 the enemy team over n over again.
Also, in hots, the levels up for whole team, if one guy is falling behind xp, all r effected. Bug abuse, exploits General Discussion. You hit the nail right on the head This is exactly correct.

The a widespread Dota 2 matchmaking update ahead of the new ranked season has been announced, including the introduction of measures to clampdown on smurfing. The fight against Smurfing – generally someone who makes an additional Steam account to install play at a lower level than their actual MMR – is ongoing for Valve. Part of latest matchmaking update, announced on the Dota 2 blog, is designed to make smurfing more difficult closing a loophole around phone number verification.
Valve said the would be rolled out “gradually over the next two days” and calibration part of the new season will begin on Thursday. The blog post announcing the new matchmaking update said: “We recognise that recently there has been an increase in smurf accounts. This will also affect accounts that have been actively playing in ranked matchmaking, rather than just new accounts going forward.
Rather than a fixed number of games, we are changing the metric to be a time based one and increased that amount to hours of playtime. This change will be silent for a few days as we verify the detection mechanism is working as intended, and will be enabled once that is verified. This will hopefully allow us to put detected accounts into an aggressive recalibration, resulting in a much quicker adjustment to an accurate MMR while reducing the number of games that are ruined in the process.

Valve has released its matchmaking update to compliment their approaching new season coming this Thursday. Valve has realized how crucial role symmetry was. Noticing that many games had a disadvantage over the misaligned roles. An example of this is when the top-lane radiant player has a higher MMR than his opposing dire opponent. Which caused problems considering the disadvantage. Valve took the time to brainstorm.
As a result, the solution given is that the update will now emphasize the alignment of roles rather than any other criteria. Role sabotaging was a huge problem during the end-season.

Everything from the look, the presentation itself, the UI, loading screens, and the character models has changed dramatically since To bother trying to create some kind of post-mortem for what DOTA was when I started, as I played it and what it has become would go too far beyond my own personal experience with the game. He was hilarious and while the game was incredibly janky and unfinished at the time, I had to join in.
After about 20 hours of Chivalry, where I actually became good at playing the game, I grew bored. The issue I had with DOTA 2 and League of Legends crap baby game in was that they eschewed story and campaign for the sake of a pure team multiplayer game. Little did I know that MOBAs are totally hilarious crack made especially appealing to idiots like me. DOTA 2 is an amazing feat of balance, strategic movement, and it can be an absolutely beautiful thing to experience.
So, my first games were learning the skills and typical playstyles, roles and keeping up with changes made during the Beta phases. I became a good support player, was able to carry, and I really took the time to study just exactly when and where each hero was effective. What happened? Upon public release of the game I began playing ranked matches.
The 6 most ridiculous hacks in Dota 2
This update brings a massive overhaul of the competitive matchmaking algorithm, just in time for the next ranked season. The first big change addresses the mismatched ranks of people playing against each other in the same role. The update hopes to remedy this problem by prioritizing rank symmetry across both teams. In the past, the matchmaking algorithm would prioritize rank spread across the opposing teams.
Should this update work as intended, it would make for some more evenly matched games. The next change adds a report function in the earliest stages of the game.

Dota 2, Valve’s own take on the famous Dota mod for Warcraft 3, has just received a fresh update for all platforms, bringing even more fixes and.
So i didn’t know how to report my findings to the game developers, I hope this discussion will bring their attention. I played a solo ranked game, the other team consisted of players with weird usernames and their whole team went to radiant off lane, well they fed us that game, i thought they were just bad but decided to check their previous games anyways.
I discovered that all of the usernames kept popping up for ranked games and they have fed in all their games, so that led me to suspect that they were in a party but i remember clearly that they were not as the bracket symbol for a party was not shown in after my game. Then i checked more of their ranked games and found that 4 usernames popped up again and again and they were in the same team this is even more weird because we cannot find rank games with a party of 4.
Match ID , clearly shows what i am talking about as examples, moreover each of the radiant players last 25 games serve as more evidence that they have clearly breached security or they are intentional feeding. Please help convey this message to the relevant people and tell them not to hesitate to contact me for more info. Also can anyone give me an insight to this, am i missing something? Matchmaking abused exist since closed beta on the first DotA2 Event , and it never fix since.
You just have to accept this and move on. Is there any way to report these players after the game, they deserve permanent ban in my opinion. Thanks for the info, but that doesn’t explain how they got about finding a ranked game with 4 people?
