The bill cleared with no discussion, and a successful amendment from Sen. Kahn told senators in November that he has heard complaints that students were forced to trade grades for sex. The bill in the fall was supported by two prosecutors, including Mike Thomas of Saginaw County who said in Senate Judiciary Committee hearings that parents “don’t expect their children to become cannon fodder for the sexual deficiencies or lack of morality in the lives” of some school employees.
